A platform for youth-led research and climate leadership
The Zambia Youth Climate Council is a youth-focused council operating under Care for Nature Zambia. The Council brings together young researchers, environmental advocates, innovators and emerging professionals to generate evidence, build research capacity and contribute meaningfully to environmental and climate-related decision-making in Zambia.
Our work goes beyond climate awareness. We support research across different sectors, provide research consultancy services, train young people in research methodologies and create opportunities for youth to participate in policy discussions and decision-making processes.
We believe that young people should not only be consulted about the future — they should be equipped with the evidence, skills and platforms required to actively shape it.
What the Zambia Youth Climate Council does
Research & Evidence
We conduct and support research across climate change, environment, natural resources, livelihoods, youth development and other sectors. Our work focuses on generating credible evidence that can inform programmes, investments and policy decisions.
Research Consultancy
We provide research consultancy services to organisations, institutions, projects and programmes. This includes research design, questionnaire development, data collection, data management, analysis, qualitative research and report development.
Youth Research Training
We equip young people with practical research skills, including research design, ethical data collection, qualitative and quantitative methods, data analysis, report writing and evidence-based advocacy.
Climate & Environmental Action
We support youth participation in climate and environmental initiatives, encouraging young people to move from awareness to practical action, innovation and community-level solutions.
Policy Engagement
We create opportunities for young people to contribute research, perspectives and recommendations to policy processes and discussions relating to climate change, environmental protection and sustainable development.
Mentorship & Capacity Building
Through our involvement with the Environmentors Zambia Chapter, we support the mentorship of children and young people in research, environmental awareness, critical thinking and evidence-based learning.
Growing the next generation of young researchers
The Zambia Youth Climate Council is also part of the Environmentors Zambia Chapter, where we contribute to initiatives that introduce children and young people to environmental research, climate issues and practical learning.
Through mentorship, young learners are encouraged to ask questions, investigate challenges affecting their communities, collect information, understand evidence and communicate their findings. The goal is to build research confidence and environmental leadership from an early age.

Effective research requires more than collecting information. Our digital research platform supports the complete research cycle — helping research teams design studies, collect data, manage datasets, analyse findings and develop evidence-based reports.
